Welcome to Botley Community Land Trust
We are a not-for-profit Community Benefit Society. Established by Botley residents in 2023 to ensure new housing in Botley is well designed, affordable and for the benefit of our community.
We believe it’s time for local residents to take control. Why?
Because Botley deserves the highest standards of housing, homes that meet the needs of our community and are fit for the challenges of the 21st century.
The challenge in Botley
Botley has seen a number of developments in recents years, including: Boorley Park, Boorley Gardens and Maddoxford Gardens. Across the border in Curdridge Parish at Sherecroft Meadows too. With planning already agreed for Botley Fields. With the expectation that further sites are to be developed in the next decade including Kings Copse Avenue/Tanhouse Lane; plus the Woodhouse Meadows site (although this is in Hedge End parish, but is on the border with Botley). As well as speculative development being proposed at Snakemoor Lane/Denhams Corner and Maddoxford Farm and South of Maddoxford Lane. Thus suggesting Botley is seen as a desirable place to build homes.
Yet these homes are not Community Land Trust homes.
Botley CLT want to make sure that what is built:
– serves the interest of our community
– are well designed
– are net zero
– maximising a positive environmental impact
